# Proof of Bandwidth

Session's Proof of Bandwidth is an innovative mechanism that ensures network quality and fair rewards distribution across our decentralized infrastructure. Think of it as a smart performance evaluation system that continuously monitors and rewards nodes based on their real contribution to the network.

### How Does It Work?

At its core, Proof of Bandwidth evaluates nodes through a comprehensive set of performance metrics:

* Connection quality and stability
* Data transfer speeds
* Response times, Latency & Jitter
* Geographic distribution

This data comes together to generate a dynamic node score, which determines how rewards are distributed. The better your node performs, the more rewards it earns – it's that straightforward!

#### Automatic Rewards Distribution

We've designed the system to automatically stream rewards based on real-time performance. There's no manual claiming or complex procedures – nodes receive rewards based on their uptime & bandwidth contribution

#### Built-in Protection

To maintain network integrity and protect honest participants, our system includes sophisticated security measures:

* Advanced detection mechanisms identify attempts to game the rewards
* Automated monitoring catches potential sybil attacks (where someone tries to run multiple nodes on the same device, or is trying to mask their location via a VPN)
* Smart penalties automatically adjust rewards when suspicious activity is detected
